Yesterday was an auspicious day. I dub it: DAMIAN day! 26 years ago to the day Damian arrived on this earth kicking and yelling his lungs out. He’s still at it. Just watch him when his wife says “no more candy bars” at Clicks.

Its kind a cute when you see a 10kg little girl stamping her little Bata-soled heels in protest.
Its kind of disturbing when you see a 105kg, 6 foot tall adult man rolling around the aisles, randomly lashing out with his combat-booted feet and bawling for a TV bar.

As best friends, Damian and I often have deep conversations about life. One day we were sitting in the Yurt with our paintball buddies and struck up a casual conversation about “What is Best in Life?”
I said that it was the empty steppe; an eagle on your wrist; a swift horse under you and the wind in your hair.
“NO!” cried the assembled crowd.
”Cona- I mean Damian! What is best in life?” asked the discussion leader.
With a steely look in his eyes he said:
“To crush your enemies! To drive them before you! To listen to the lamentation of their women!”
“YES!” Cried the discussion leader. “That is Best in Life”.
Its kak being the only guy in the room with a wrong answer!
Anyway, best bud Damian: Happy birthday for yesterday. Can you believe that I lost track of time and forgot your birthday? I will say in my defense, that I DID think that your birthday was 2 months ago and gave you your present then!
Anyway it’s the thought that counts. I usually don’t buy that bullshit line when others run it by me, but in this case I hope you’ll make an exception.
